What’s the purpose of fitness evaluation

First, body composition measures how much internal / external fat, muscle %, bone weight that comprises total body weight. Many fitness enthusiasts believe that total body weight is main goal. Wrong ! Your total bodyweight goes up and down or towards your personal goal but doesn’t reveal true composition changes.

Second, muscle endurance should measure max reps done with proper form until fatigue or form fails. Common movements like pushups, walkouts or pull ups , and squats are key to determine true muscle endurance gains.

Third, muscle strength is best measured using isometric exercises, I prefer simple plank and squat to measure upper and lower body strength. Using my personal max method ( patent pending) simply hold for time until failure. Gravity times body weight straight forward provides resistance.

Fourth : 3 min step test for average cleint and 1mile walk/run used more for sport performance find average step equipment needed: stop watch or cell phone to get time and log find step and begin alternating step up, up , down , down for 3 minutes then sit count pulse beats for 1:00 min =BPM
